Vietnam videos

As I cycled through Vietnam on my world cycle tour I recorded videos of anything that I saw that caught my eye.  I hope that these will give you a snapshot of life within the countries that I will have been privileged enough to cycle through.

Please scroll down to watch individual videos or visit my Youtube channel where you will find all of the videos from my cycle around the world.

Leaving Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam part 1 (14 minutes)

After 6 months of planning it was brilliant to finally set off on my cycle tour. This video is the first part of day 1 from HCMC and into the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. For those of you not familiar with Vietnam I hope that it gives you a flavour of the amazing landscape that I am privileged enough to cycle through.
I hope you enjoy the video and I promise that the dodgy acting, camera work and commentary will improve as my cycle tour continues.

A day off the bike seeing the Mekong Delta, Vietnam (12 minutes)

I was staying with friends in the Mekong Delta and so today was a day off the bike – pagodas, motorbikes and nearly chopping my fingers off with a machete.  Never a dull moment on a cycling tour ……

Village life in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam (12 minutes)

This amazing Vietnamese family opened their home an hearts to me. Although I cannot speak Vietnamese and nobody in the village can speak English they greeted me with the biggest smile and their hospitality was amazing.Although I was only here for a short time the memories will live with me forever.

Why is it that those with the least often give the most? A truly brilliant and humbling experience.

A day of random encounters – Vietnam (10 minutes)

A brilliant day of random encounters – the old lady with the machete, the guys pushing a plant down the road, town radio, here comes the rain and a guy with a wheelbarrow. All in a days cycling…..

It doesn’t matter how much you travel there will always be times when you forget the basics.
